TCL 20s won't charge unless charger is held in tight. Koodo won't bother to help because it's over 1yr old. Took a repair store to be looked at they took phone apart and they don't even know what's wrong with it as nothing is broken inside the phone. Any ideas or anyone have same problem???
Are you using the charging cable that came with your TCL 20s?
Have you tried using a new charging cable?
You may want to look into getting a new charging cable.
USB-C charging cable or USB-C charger and charging cable
Tried all new stuff, repair store did too and unfortunately not wireless charging compatible
I’ve seen many people with this problem and a good chunk of the time it just comes down to lint being stuck in the charging port.
If you’re comfortable doing so, get something tiny like *refer to rikkster below* and dig around in there for a bit and see if you can dig any lint and other stuff out. (Do so carefully as to not break anything in the charging port but you don’t have to be overly cautious, just a little)
I would strongly advise against digging around or using anything metallic when working on the charging port. A can of compressed air (computer duster) is your safest option. Use a non-conductive tool made of plastic if you still want to dislodge lint or dust from the charging port.
Thanks...I've tried with a toothpick and a pointy nail file and nothing came out, the guy at the store used air as well. That's why he doesn't understand what's going on because there is nothing physically wrong with it...
I would take the phone to a different repair shop and get a second opinion. It’s difficult to tell whether the repair shop removed the charging board to check/test for faults or just did a visual inspection of the board. The charging port board itself is relatively inexpensive to replace provided the repair shop stocks the board.
Thanks I appreciate your help...I will definitely do that TM..I know their cheap so wasnt sure why they wanted to charge me 200$..I found some online when I looked and they are like 20/30$...is it something you could replace yourself?
Try shopping around. You may come across a better deal. There are Mobile Klinik or uBreakiFix repair shop locations in the Niagara region. Turnaround time for most repairs is fairly quick. Call or email them for a quote - link below.

I have used teardown and repair videos in the past for replacing screens and USB charging ports. I spent time looking for a decent TCL 20s teardown or charging board replacement video and I could not find one.
I’m all for the right-to-repair movement but with such little information to go by, I think the repair shop option is the better route to take.
