Hi,

I ported my old Rogers number last night to my new Koodo account.  I can send and receive phone calls using the ported number.  I can also receive texts sent to my ported number.

However, when I send a text, it shows up as being sent from my pre-ported number, not the number I’ve ported over and want to be used.

How can I get this fixed?  I not excited to wait 2 days for a callback via the chatbot.

I should also mention - I never got the ‘Welcome to Koodo’ text message that is mentioned in the instructions for porting a number over.


What kind of phone do you have?
If it’s an iPhone for example you may need to de-register the temp number from imessage and then register the ported one.


It’s a Google Pixel 7.  I’ll see if there’s a setting in Messages or something like that. Thanks!


That was the problem!  I went into app settings, and hit Clear Storage on the Messages app.

After opening the Messages app again, and re-setting it up, my texts were being sent from the correct number.
