I'm currently traveling in the USA. My plan includes unlimited talk, text and use of my monthly data while in the USA. A few days ago my phone stopped working. I can no longer place or receive phone calls. My data still works fine and I can still text.
Has anyone dealt with this issue before? I have tried restarting my phone, updating my phone, registering on different networks (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) but have not been able to get the phone to place a call.
Your issue is likely due to Koodo’s US roaming talk boosters being incompatible with US networks after their 3G shutdown and 5G transition. Although data and texting work, calls fail without VoLTE properly enabled or supported on your plan and device. Ensure VoLTE is active both on your phone and account, manually select a US network (like T-Mobile), and check your roaming add-ons. Koodo is working on this known problem affecting prepaid roaming.
I checked my “add-ons” on Koodo self-serve. Koodo VoLTE Access is one of my add-ons. I have a OnePlus 8 phone (which is VoLTE capable) but in my settings for my SIM, I don’t have the option to enable VoLTE. Why is this? Can Koodo update my account so I can use VoLTE on my phone?

When you are roaming in the US, it is the US carrier who decide if you can use VoLTE on their network. Those settings are typically bundled with the carrier configuration and no longer appear as a standalone option.
I am not so sure if your phone is working properly with Koodo network either. Have you tested whether VoLTE can work normally on Koodo network in Canada?
Can you try your sim in another device (samsung, apple, Google) to see if VoLTE works? I know this may be a hard ask if you are traveling
Unfortunately, the OnePlus 8 is too old to be compatible with VoLTE on the Koodo network. Based on this page, it does work on newer OnePlus devices.
