Question

one ring scam call

Hello,

I am writing to ask about a phone call I recently received and to check whether it may have been a one-ring scam.

I missed a call from the number 888-652-0410, and later returned the call. Afterward, I became concerned that this number might be associated with a one-ring scam or fraudulent activity.

Could you please let me know:

  • Whether this number is known or reported as a scam number

  • If returning the call could result in any unexpected charges

  • Whether there is anything I should do to protect my account

I would appreciate it if you could review this and advise me on any next steps.

Thank you for your assistance.

It isn't easy. Koodo doesn't have a tool to track down to see if a particular number is spam or not. If they had, they would have stopped all spam calls already.

Since scammers can even fake the number, don't always trust what shows up on your phone screen when someone calls. Extra caution will probably save your best friend.

Regarding the fee, you can check your self-service and usage area to see if you were charged for long distance or not. It really depends on your plan.
