I used to have a great connection to Telus/Koodo network with my iPhone 11. I travelled in Europe and bought a eSIM while there. Since coming back, I keep having connectivity issue. I live in the middle of 5G area according to the connectivity map and Im having trouble getting more the 2-3 bars on LTE and even 2-3 bars on 3G sometimes. Im also having trouble making calls. I have restarted my phone multiple time, took out the SIM and put it back in, reset the network setting and completly remove the eSIM I bought while travelling. Anyone has an idea of what could be the issue and how I can resolve it? Thanks!

Hi @Antoin2807

Are you able to test the sim card on a different phone and see if it makes any difference?

I recommend also resetting your network settings.  Note that any saved wifi or bluetooth connections will be lost

Hi @Flo Koodo ,

I tested the SIM card in an another iPhone 11 and the network is the same as with my phone. Does that means that the SIM card is faulty?

Thanks!

Hi @Dennis ,

I already tried resetting the network settings but it didn’t change anything.

Thanks!

The iPhone 11 doesn't have 5G bands so it can not display 5G network.

The best it could do is LTE/4G. If you only saw those, that is normal behaviour, I believe.

Hi @Dinh ,

Yes I am aware. The thing is that my LTE connection is terrible and I am having trouble making call since I came back. My connection was great before that.

Thanks!

Was the signal in the area good in the past? as well, do you have another phone model (other than the iphone 11) to test out? I wonder if they made some changes in network bands in your area.

Is the connection bad just in your home or all over your city?

Hi @Dinh and @Dennis ,

My girlfriend is also with Koodo and doesn’t have any problem so I guess there hasn’t been any changes to the network. The problem is also everywhere I go. For example, we were on the highway a few days ago and my didn’t have any connection (on the SOS mode or something) while my girlfriend had a LTE connection at the same time.

Thanks again!

@Antoin2807

In this case, it may be that the sim got defective.

If you able to visit a store nearby to have it tested first and if it turns out it’s the sim at fault, then you'd need to purchase a sim card replacement.

I would also try your sim in your girlfriend’s phone and vice versa to conform if the problem follows your phone or sim.

The expectation is the issue follows the sim.
