I’ve been trying to transfer my phone number from my previous phone (iPhone 12 with physical SIM card) to a new one that requires eSIM (iPhone 17). I didn’t transfer my phone number immediately when I turned on the new device. I read the instructions on this website (one of them is “Existing Customer: Setting up a new iPhone or iPad.”), but I got a message saying that “this phone number can’t be transferred because your account is ineligible,” and to contact Koodo (attached).

Another instruction I read is “Existing Customer: Switching from Physical SIM to eSIM” because I thought that maybe if I transfer the phone number after switching from physical SIM to eSIM, this whole phone number transfer would work. However, in my old phone, there’s no option to convert to eSIM. Is this because I’m using prepaid card? My friend who uses postpaid (monthly) seamlessly transferred their phone number from their old device (with a physical SIM card) to their new one (only accepts eSIM).
Any advice is appreciated!!
