Issues Registering SIM Car

We just got a new SIM card for my sons Iphone and the SIM card is hung up at the registration part. What is going on and how do we activate the new SIM card?

Is this for prepaid or postpaid?  

Is this a new sim card?  Is it a new line?

Just to double check, are you trying to activate a prepaid physical sim card?

Activating a sim card for replacement phone. Son lost old phone.

The account is a monthly billing account not prepaid

Yes. I've actually been on the phone with support for over an hour. I've cleared the cache etc etc and it hangs up after the verification code is submitted. No matter what.

We see that you are in touch with a rep over the phone, did you get transferred with the technical support team in the meantime?

Thank you everyone. I was transferred to IT and they were able to register the SIM card. All is good now.
