If i turn off the roaming while i’m in the USA, will i still receive text and phone calls?
My plan is not to answer, just see who is trying to contact me.

Turn off the cellular data entirely rather than just the roaming data to avoid getting charged for small amounts of data leakage. Incoming text messages are free, as are incoming phone calls as long as you don't answer them. Bear in mind that checking your voicemail from your cellphone will be charged as a roaming call though.
