I don't see a way, either on my phone nor in the Self Serve site, that gives me the ability to add a phone number to Favorites. I can delete contacts from the Favorites but do not see a way to add one.

You can do this by tapping on a contact and then towards the bottom there will be a button that says “Add to Favorites”

You can do that on your phone. Which device are you using?
