This isn’t my usual account- i can’t login to my other one as it’s not sending my password verification via text or email…

Anyway- i have a new phone coming in the mail soon, and am looking for info how to set it up.  My current phone is an old pantech 3G phone.  So it has been unable to receive photos since  this company changed things over last year.

This new phone is supposed to be 4G- and therefore able to get set up to send and  get pictures again.  i just need help directing me where i will need to go on the phone and what to input once i get it please. Also, not sure if it needs to be mentioned, im in NS Canada.

Here is the phone specs.  Also to mention, this is my first ‘smart’ phone.

You mentioned that “So it has been unable to receive photos since  this company changed things over last year.”

What do you mean by this? Were you able to get picture messages with this phone previously?  If so, we may be able to help you get picture messaging working again and maybe you would be able to return this new phone.  The new phone mentions a 3” screen which is very small.

This new phone is not a typical phone used by Koodo customers.  It is generic and very atypical of what customers would normally get.

Typically you should be able to take your sim out of your phone and put into you new phone.  However I have no idea what sim card size your Pantech 3G uses (micro sim or nano sim.  And I am not sure what sim size your XS16 will be using but im guessing it would a nano sim since it mentions USB-C.

Out of curiosity, what plan do you have with Koodo?

Are you planning on using data with this plan?

Koodo is also starting to charge customers for phone that cannot use VoLTE and uses 3G for voice only.  And I am not confident if this new phone has the option for VoLTE.  And If so, Koodo has been very restrictive to the typical brands and models of phones that VoLTE will work with Koodo.  I just want to make sure you are informed so if you get this new phone, you wont be surprised that you eventually have a 3G charge and you regret not getting a different phone.

Yes, i used to be able to send and get photos.  Then they sent out the mass emails warning people they had to change some html address or something in their phones to allow to continue to do so as they were ‘improving whatever’ to make things better for users.

However, my Pantech phone is discontinued and very old, and on a 3G network.  It is a Pantech P6010. i was unable to add or change any addresses in the phone to sync with the new updates koodo put out as my phone doesn’t even have the option to do it. At all. So, there isn’t anything that can be done to re-enable my ability to send or get pictures.  My phone was left in the dust of progress.  My current phone has a 5.5cm screen.  So the new phone screen size is absolutely no issue. i never wanted a large phone.  i never even wanted a smart phone of any kind.

Atypical is generally how i roll.  i do NOT use data, have no interest in using data.  i just need it to talk on occasionally, send texts and send/receive the occasional picture or two.  i don’t live on my phone, like 98% of the population.

This phone i am using currently has a Koodo sim card thing stuck in the back.

i have a basic plan with koodo, i cant recall off the top of my head, and i have the international text/picture.

Do not use data, never used data, have absolutely no plans to use data.

i’m not tech savvy, at all.  All i know, is the new phone is 4G, where the one i have is only 3G.  The new phone is NICE and SMALL like my current one. :)

Based on the information provided, it should be compatible with the Koodo network.

That’s great, but i still need the correct APN and DNS codes and numbers, please?  i have the ones currently in my phone right now, but there was the updated/additional one i was unable to enter due to my phone not having the capability/area to enter it.  That’s what this post was for, to get that information, please. 🌼
