I bought a GPS tracker that requires a prepaid SIM card to communicate with the app. I installed the SIM card but it doesn’t appear to work. Going through the troubleshooting with the GPS system it said to deactivate the pin number on the SIM card. How do I do this?
I don't think Koodo set a PIN for your prepaid sim. If you setup it yourself, you could put the sim into a phone and remove it from there.
Is this gps tracker compatible with 3g-4g bands? I know a lot of these devices have been 2g only, so that could also be it. Sim cards don’t usually have a pin on by default.
The default Koodo SIM PIN is 1234. This likely covers both postpaid and prepaid SIM cards. By default, the SIM card is not locked. The SIM card lock activates when entering either the default SIM PIN (1234) or by changing the default SIM PIN to a user-assigned SIM PIN, from your phone.
If a SIM PIN is entered incorrectly 3 times, your SIM card will be locked, and you will require a Personal Unlocking Key Code (PUK code) to reset the SIM PIN. In the event that you do require your PUK code, please Contact Us.
Edit: didn’t see Goran’s post until I refreshed the page.
The GPS does not say whether it is 2 G or 3 G but the instructions do say to just purchase a standard phone SIM card and not to activate the pin number. When I registered the prepaid card with Koodo it required a pin number to activate.
You may need to purchase a non-activated prepaid SIM card from say Amazon Canada.

Do you have a link or a name for this GPS tracker device?
This is the link for the tracker that I bought. http://www.mytkstar.net/Winnes.pdf

Thank you for providing the manual. This device is not compatible with Koodo. As Goran mentioned, it operates on a 2G network (which Koodo does not have) and looks as though it’s destined for European markets.
Ok. Thanks for the help everyone.
