Can i use an unlocked phone

I have a paid off Galaxy A71 and monthly plan with koodo right now but my phone is cracked up and I want to replace it but not doing a tab. Does anyone know if I could buy an unlocked phone, like a Pixel 6 and just put my sim in it? Thanks in advance.

But of course ☺️ You can use any phone you want, as long as it is unlocked.
