I would rather not have voicemail. If I don’t answer a call, I would prefer the caller hears a message saying something like “ this user has not activated their voicemail” and then hangs up on them. They would need to call back another time or send me a text. I would never need to check voicemails, nor risk missing any VMs, or remember how to access VMs. Is it possible to de-activate this feature? I don’t recall activating it when I became a Koodo customer a few months ago, but mine seems to be activated with a generic greeting.

Yes, you can follow these steps to disable your voicemail.
- Call your voicemail by holding the number 1 on your dial pad
- Select option 3 to “Manage your greetings”
- Select option 4 to “Manage your Extended Absence Greeting”
- Select option 5 to block callers from leaving a message after hearing the Extended Absence Greeting
Done! Now, if you don’t answer a call, the caller will hear the following message and the call will then be automatically terminated: “Thank you for calling. Goodbye.”
The instructions don’t work for manage extended absence and called Koodo to disable my voicemail. The lady said it worked but it didn’t. Now I have to call again.
If you do change your mind and would like to have voicemail again in the future, you will have to speak to an agent for them to add it back.
Cheers
I see others have the same problem with Koodo’s self help instruction not working, not sure why Koodo does not update their instruction so customer can disable the voicemail.
I also see that Koodo employee responded 30 days after customer request to disable the vociemail, which leads me to believe they are 3rd-pary vendor with no access to Koodos systems, they have to submit requests to Koodo to disable, and that’s why it takes 30 days.

Hello there, I’m travelling internationally and don’t want the roaming charges getting triggered via a random voicemail. Can someone from Koodo disable my voicemail at their end please? I have a voicemail notification hanging on my phone and every time i swipe down, I’m terrified of tapping it (thereby potentially triggering a $15/ day roaming charge).

Pls help me the same. I also want to remove voice mail
Hi
Before proceeding with deactivating the voicemail, please note that any unsaved or unread voicemail will be deleted. Also, if you change the plan in the future, the voicemail will be reactivated since it is part of the included services for each plan.

Please schedule a call back with the virtual assist, or send us a message on Facebook or X (Twitter) using the links at the bottom of this page
In the instructions to deactivate voicemail above there’s an error in that callers are allowed to leave voicemail because in step
4: Select option 5 to block callers from leaving a message after hearing the Extended Absence Greeting
This is wrong and it’s not what is being said on the voice prompt. What’s it’s doing is it’s saying that pressing #5 ALLOWS callers to leave a message after hearing the Extended Absence Greeting!
