When trying to upgrade and paying upfront to a new phone on an existing monthly paid preauthorized account it is required to prepay the already paid for monthly fee which would make it being paid for twice. Phone amount plus the monthly plan. The plan is directly withdrawn for the bank account but the phone would be paid for on a credit card not on a tab. Questions is what am I doing wrong when I indicate to keep the existing plan but it still includes it in the final price.
Hi
Just to double check, at check out you are seeing the plan cost along with the upfront cost of the phone?
Will you please share a screenshot of the breakdown that shows the costs? Please hide any personal details.
When trying to upgrade and paying upfront to a new phone
Is the phone purchased on a tab with an upfront piece?
on an existing monthly paid preauthorized account it is required to prepay the already paid for monthly fee which would make it being paid for twice.
Do you mean you are on a postpaid monthly account that you have set pre-authorized payments?
How long have you been a customer?

Are you sure it is asking you to pay for both? Or is it just showing you the plan? Even if you mistakenly chose the option for adding a new line, you would never pay for your plan during the phone purchasing process. Plan payment always comes later during the monthly invoice
Yes I am seeing the plan cost with the costs of the phone. I am already on preauthorized plans which is tied to my bank account and has been activated for approximately 25 years. This is not on a tab but just a straight up purchase attempt . Will likely just suck up the connection costs by going to a kodoo store but will likely just upgrade 1 phone due to it being non functioning instead of the others until i research some more.
There will only be a proration in case you choose a new plan, meaning that you will be charged the new plan from the moment the change is made and credited partially for the old plan.
More about proration can be found here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/proration
If you keep the same plan, there shouldn’t be a double charge for your plan.
