Question

Set up new account with eSIM voucher

I’m trying to register for a new account with an eSIM voucher that I purchased at a Koodo store. The option to register for a new account directs to the Koodo Assist chat bot that asks for my account number (I don’t have one), and if I pick the plan I want and try to purchase it, it wants me to purchase a physical SIM that gets mailed it to me. There is no option to say I already have an eSIM voucher.

Can I not set up a brand new account and move my number from another carrier with a Koodo eSIM voucher? I was told in-store this should be no problem.

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

You need to sign up for a plan first.  You can do that in a Koodo store or you can find the plan online that you want and add to cart to save the activation fee.

As part of the online sign up process they will mail you out a sim card.  You can then swap the sim from your physical sim to your esim

I now have an account setup with the details, an account number and a temporary phone number (accomplished this with support over the phone). Logging into Self Serve is successful, but when going to select a plan there is a white pop-up with an infinite loading screen and I am unable to select a plan. This is not a browser or internet issue. How do I fix this and select a plan to assign to my account?

If you just activated today, you should already have a plan associated with the number. Is it a postpaid account?

If it is a postpaid account, their system does not allow you change plan once per billing cycle in self-serve. If you want to change your rateplan to something else, try to wait for the billing cycle start in a few day.

There is no plan associated with the number, that is what I am trying to do. The associate on the phone did not assign a plan but provided the account details (number, temporary phone number)

There is always a plan associated with a number, unless that number was canceled.

When you asked a rep to activate a SIM card for you, what did you ask and what did they do for you? Did you receive a service agreement?

And was you once a Koodo customer? are you a postpaid customer?

If you were going to sign up over the phone ($70 activation fee), you might as well sign up in the Koodo store.  There they can set you up with a plan and esim.

There is a well defined process.  Either you sign up online or in store.  As part of signing up you select your plan first.  I don’t know what you are trying to do, or who you spoke to over the phone but you should not be able to sign up with out a plan
