 Hi @two_user

We have checked  with the support team and they were able to confirm the activation has been completed with Koodo.

Can you please plug in your modem and router and let us know if it works?

First thing; make sure the coax cable is plugged into your modem. Sounds basic but that’s the #1 culprit when the online light won’t turn on.

Also check that you actually unplugged the old Teksavvy modem from the coax port. You can just’t have both connected at the same time.

If coax is definitely plugged in and the light’s still dead, try unplugging the Koodo modem for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Sometimes takes a minute or two to light up after that.

Still nothing? The activation might not have gone through properly on Koodo’s end.

Just to confirm, have you canceled your Teksavvy Internet yet? One coaxial port can only handle one ISP at a time.

I unplugged the old Teksavvy modem first, the plugged in Koodo modem.

I did it in the 6am morning, I am not sure if the ISP has been transferred at the back end. I have not cancelled Teksavvy in case Koodo installation fails since  I need the internet.

When I ordered the Koodo internet, I was told a tech will come to help free of charge. I don’t know if they will come. However, I think self-installation should be enough.

Not yet since I am afraid of the failure of installation, since i need the internet always.

Then that would explain why Koodo can’t seem to activate. Are both ISP associated on the same port?

yes. both use the same port. I just use the same cable, swith from Teksavvy modem to Koodo modem.

Do i really need to cancel Teksavvy on the same day?

Yeah, you gotta cancel Teksavvy first; both ISPs can’t share the same port, even if you switch cables. Koodo’s backend needs the line fully released before activation works. If you’re worried about downtime, do it right before switching, but it’s necessary. If the online light still won’t come on after that, then it’s a Koodo activation issue and you’ll need their support to sort it out.

Do i need to cancel Teksavvy first? Or keep Teksavvy now, just switch modem?

Thanks. I have set up Internet successfully. 😀

One more thing to those might not know:  I was able to setup Koodo without cancelling the old Internet. We can cancel the old one after, to make sure no gap.
