I live in a remote community that I have to use wifi calling a lot. Was on a prepaid plan but Koodo doesn’t offer wifi calling on prepaid plans. I switched to a monthly plan, did the transfer number but I never get the email to respond yes to the transfer. Somebody please help!

Check your spam/junk folder for the port confirmation email first but it usually come by SMS. Also, look in Self Serve for port status (successful ports often send an SMS too).

Restart your phone, reset network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on iPhone; avoid factory reset), or reseat SIM/eSIM.

Ports can take 24-48 hrs to fully activate. Haven’t seen the email? What’s the exact port status in Self Serve? If over 48 hrs with no update, if you want, I can flag a rep for you to review this.

It doesn’t say it will email me it says that I will get a text. When I first put in the transfer it says in process then about 20 min later it says nothing except to start the transfer again

The port authorization is done via a text message, not an email.

If the service in your area is poor and you're unable to receive the port text message, are you able to go somewhere that the signal is better, login to self serve, and attempt the port process again?

If not, I suggest you schedule a call back using koodo assist and have a rep help with the port. As you're transferring koodo prepaid to postpaid, they can assist with the authorization issues.

Are they SMS text messages or iMessages / RCS chat Messages?

iMessage (iPhone blue bubble) and RCS chat messages (android equivalent of iMessage) send and receive over WiFi. So it would make sense that you receive these as opposed to SMS messages.

@Chunk74

We have looked into it and based on the account details, there is no transfer in progress at this time.

Just to double check, when you go in self serve, do you see a transfer in progress?

Like I said they are sms text messages. I have initiated the transfer several times and it says in process then I go back in and it’s like I never started the transfer it’s say to start transfer all over again but I never receive the sms text

The SMS is sent to the prepaid number. As of now, is your prepaid SIM in the phone? And do you currently have signal at the location?

I assume your prepaid number is still active and  send/receive SMS normally?

@Chunk74

As Dinh mentioned, the SMS is indeed sent to the prepaid number, When it comes to transfer process, have you tried resubmitting the transfer request in incognito mode on your browser?
