I am trying to make an international call to South Africa. It rings once and then i get an automated message saying that the call did not go through. I see i do have international calling as an add on. Please advise.

Regards

Hi there @Hencolinde ,   The message you heard, was it something like this “ The number you dialed is within a number range that has been blocked for security reasons. If you require further assistance, please contact TELUS/Koodo at 611, or contact your long distance provider.”

Boa_Guy Koodo - No the message was just “Your call did not go through. This is an automated message” and then it repeats itself in French as well.

Hey, @Hencolinde  We suggest checking if you are dialing correctly, just in case.

Example: You should not dial 0 after UK country code (44) if you are calling UK from Canada

011-44-0 + XXXXX XXXXX is incorrect as valid calling pattern from Canada to UK is 011-44 + XXXXX XXXXX (10 digits)

its the same for South Africa

Hope this helps. :)

Hi @Boa_Guy Koodo

I rechecked my number but no success yet.

This is the number i am trying to dial in South Africa - 0860 123 003

I have dialed - +27 0860 123 003, +27860 123 003, 01127 0860 123 003 & 01127 860 123 003.

I get the following message - “6uc2, the number you have reached is not in service” or “we’re sorry the call did not go through”

Please advise.

Can you try if your call is getting through with a service like MyTello just to rule out any errors? They give some free credit so it shouldn't cost anything to try.
