Hi there,

I ported from Fido to Koodo during black Friday, today I found that I did receive any text message after porting to Koodo, and after I sent one message to other phones, they said they did not receive my text message as well.

I am usinng iPhone, I did the following methods, but does not work:

  1. reset the network setting
  2. reboot the iphone
  3. enter plane mode and turn on
  4. unplug SIM card several times
  5. disable iMessage and turn on
  6. Disable RCS and turn on

I made some search in this forum, and someone said maybe this is server-side issue, you need to do some check with my phone from server side?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Which phone is the other person using? Are they using iPhone and are they receiving messages normally from all people?

The another phone is iPhone as well.

YES, another iPhone are receiving SMS normally.

Thanks,

If you turn off imessage are you are to send and receive SMS with this other person?

NO, I turn off and turn on imessage several times, and reboot the phone as well, it does not work.

Iphone - > setting → Apps → Message → iMessage, I turn off it, then turn on it, the send/receive option under the iMessage, after tape it, only the email with my Apple ID is checked. I click the phone number optionn, it does not work. “activation unsuccess”

I made more testing:

I put this SIM card into another Andorid phone, it does not work as well. It can receive/send phone call, but could not send/receive SMS.

I tried to send a SMS to an iPhone from that Android phone with my Koodo SIM, but that iPhone did not receive the messages.

I used another iPhone to send message to my Koodo number which is an Android device, that Android device could not receive the messages as well.

But after I put another BELL SIM card into that Android device, all is good, I can send and receive SMS successfully.

Overall, I do not think it’s my device issue, it seems that Koodo network issue, I guess someone from Koodo need to help me to check from server side.

Pleasee let me know if I need to make a phone call to Koodo? Who can let me know the phone number?

thanks a lot. It’s frustrated now as I could not receive those SMS fromm bank or other APPs,

What happens when you turn it off and leave it off and send a text?

EDIT: I just saw your replies.

It sounds like it could be an issue with the Sim card (potentially defective or damaged).  Can you try to replace your sim card?

Hi @Haiyan

On our end, we see the transfer was completed to Koodo, however, we recommend scheduling a call back with the technical support, as they have access to more advanced tools and they will be able to see if something went wrong about the SMS settings or if it’s the sim at fault.

I made a callback service wth Koodo service deparment, they called me this afternoon, and they worked more than 1 hour on this issue,  finally, all is working well now! They are so nice and professional, thank you again!
