I am changing my plan and it it will not allow me to select a free perk. I want to select the “Unlimited International SMS”. I see hundred of other users having this issue. It seems as if Koodo is trying to scam its customers out of selecting the free perk for any of those who will not jump through the hoops to contact and get this added. 

My plan pricing was increased $5 by Koodo and I was not notified in-advance of the change. I am trying to change to a plan at my own loss which will reduce the price down by the $5 but I will lose 10GB of my data. By doing that, it seems as though Koodo is also trying to make me give up my free perk by not allowing me to select it. Very frustrated!!! 

I have auto-pay activated already since signing up. I want to change to the 34.00 per month with auto pay plan with 30 GB shock free data. I want to include the free perk Unlimited International SMS. This way I will go back to the price I signed up for of $34.00 per month which is the whole reason I switched to Koodo originally.

We have looked into it and we see there was a notice on the March bill page 5 regarding the increase, feel free to download the PDF bill in self serve for more details.

When you try making the change for the plan in self serve, are you able to complete the change for the plan if you do not select a perk?

I can see the plan and I can select the plan I just can’t select the free perk. After I add it, it shows no perks selected on the final page.

Also very disappointing when I was only 4 months into changing to Koodo. As I said, I switched to Koodo to save $5. Less than half a year in and I went through the trouble for nothing as the price I’m paying is the same up $5 again

You could change your plan first, then add the perk later.  That is a common error.

In the case, you couldn’t add a perk later, you could come back here and ask a rep to manually add it for you or schedule a callback.


I changed my plan to the new plan. I don’t think my unlimited international SMS perk was added to my plan. After confirming the new plan, I went to manage mobile services and added the perk, however at the end it still says no perks selected. Someone please add the perk to my plan?
 

On a separate note, I have always had pre-authorized payments set up through credit card. Does this mean that I have auto-pay set up and will get the $5 monthly credit for auto-pay? I do not want to enable auto-pay through third party Plaid service.

Let me flag a rep to look into the international SMS add-on

Regarding the pre-authorized payment, your current setup should be enough. However, monitor the plan to see if the discount is actually applied.

We have looked into your account and confirmed that your plan was successfully changed, along with the Unlimited SMS Perk. Both are correctly provisioned on your account.

Since your plan is eligible for the pre-authorized payment discount, you will see the discount automatically applied on your next bill.

Thank you both - my issue is resolved for now.
 

I’m taking bets on how many months I am back to my original $5 less price before I have to give up more GB.

This issue was not addressed correctly. Instead of only adding the free international SMS perk, someone has also added rollover data for an additional $5. I did not ask to have this rollover data additional perk added for $5. Please remove this perk from my plan and correct my bill to remove the $5 cost .

We have removed Rollover data from your perk and a refund should apply on your next bill. In case you notice any bill inconsistencies related to the perk, please let us know.
