I have a sim card I got in the mail from koodo when I bought a new phone. I didnt need the sim card as I had one, but I want to use the sim to give my daughter a line. I tried to activate it on koodo prepaid, and the message said the card was not available to be activated. I am also fine to do a regular plan, but don’t see how to do that. Can someone please help?

+4You would indeed need a prepaid SIM card for a prepaid line.
As for postpaid, unfortunately the SIM that you have isn't useful for that either, because when you add a line for her, Koodo would ship a SIM that's already activated.
So the koodo sim card I got in the mail cannot be used for anything?

It can be used for a postpaid line, but not a prepaid one. They use different sim cards for postpaid and prepaid.
And even if you get a postpaid line, you cant activate the sim on your own. You still need to sign up online or in store and they will give you a sim.
Just use the sim as a spare
