No Service - after activation of new phone using esim

Hi

I just upgraded to a new phone.

My old phone was a pixel 4a and had a physical sim (service with koodo).

My new phone is a Pixel 8 pro and I was provided an esim which I activated.

My new phone  indicates no service while my old phone has service.

So how do I deactivate the old phone service and get it on my new phone?

Thanks

If the old phone was still using the physical sim and the number, your number might not be transferred from the old sim to the new eSIM.

Have you finished the SIM switch as described here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/koodo-sim-support?

As well, is the pixel 8 pro has a physical sim slot, you can use the physical SIM from the old one into the 8pro.

doesn't seem to be work.. I guess I'm going to have to get in touch with someone unless there are other work arounds… originallydownloaded and activated the esim and it said koodo(temporarily unavailable) but I had my physical sim card in the old phone and it had service.  I then took out the sim card to see if it helped but didn't.  I also tried as you specified to add the physical sim.  I saw the physical and the esim so selected the physical but it said was being used for mobile data and the esim for messaging and text but the sim doesn't work.

Getting crappy…

eh, How did you “download esim”? did Koodo store give you a voucher or something?

From your description, I would try to put both data, call, message in the physical sim in the SIM manager of the phone.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I ended up getting tech support on the line.  They provided me a new esim download.  For some reason we  couldn't quite figure out the issue with the first one.

Note initially they told me they would have to charge me for the new esim but as I pointed out I never got a physical card with my new phone and since it was not working they gave me it for free.
