Tax Exemption on Price of Phone

I am planning to purchase a new phone, and I am already eligible for the First Nations tax exemption on my bills. Is this exemption also applied to the initial price of the phone? Or is there a different way to have this applied?

If you get charged taxes for the purchase of the phone, you need to fill out this form to get the rebate. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/forms/gst189.html

It looks like it’s not guaranteed to have the tax not applied on checkout online if your account has a tax exemption filed with Koodo. If it does charge you still, then you’ll have to fill out the GST189 form and file it online to get refunded the sales tax.
