just signed up for $25/month—-email says $45 a month

As title says, I just signed up for what was promoted as $25 a month, for two years and 80GB. Also signed up to authorize bank withdrawals. Why does Koodo email say service is $45 a month?

That $25/80GB promo is usually the base price after discounts like auto-pay and sometimes a monthly credit; they stack on a $40 plan to hit $25.

Check Self Serve right now: log in, go to Plans & Add-ons, and see if it lists $40 (normal) but shows $25 estimated with auto-pay. If you haven’t already, enroll or confirm auto-pay; it saves $10 a month automatically.

That email showing $45? It probably includes first-month prorated fees, taxes, or a one-time setup charge. Your ongoing bill should drop to $25 once those clear.

If Self Serve still doesn’t match after setting up auto-pay, reply with a screenshot of your plan details (just blur out your personal info). We’ll figure it out from there.

Afraid I do not see a menu item called Plans and Add-Ons. When I click on mobile services, it says $45 plus tax.

How did you sign up for the $25 per month plan?  Was it in store or online?

So as noted in the purple, it is a $45 plan with a $10 auto pay by bank discount and $10 additional discount for 24 months

Yup. Totally agree. So I sign up (including bank authorization which is worth $10 less a month) and get an email like this

Hi there,

are you referring to why it is showing $45 in self serve / the email? As the plan is indeed $45. After the credits you described and shown in the images, the charge you will see per month will be $25 after the credits are applied on the bill.

The plan itself is indeed $45. After the credits, this will reduce the plan to the advertised price, but ultimately $45 is the plan. The credits apply after the fact both for autopay and the $10 x 24m as they’re bill credits.

Perhaps — but I would have expected it to say so. Even if it wanted to remind me that the plan is $45 plus tax, in my view it should have noted the discounts and said what the real bill is. As it does not, this is confusing.

Yes it is a $45 plan.  THis is what shows up in self serve.

And then when you get your detailed pdf ebill, it will show the $10 credit for 24 months and also a $10 credit if you have auto pay by bank enabled.  These credits do not show on your plan or on self serve.

I agree it is confusing, but unfortunately this is how Koodo’s self serve system works

Perhaps — but I expected more clarity. Would normally never use Bell as an example, but it identifies time-limited discounts and says what the real price is. This way raises unnecessary confusion.

It's a $45 plan.

If you stay with Koodo for 2 years, you'll receive a $10/month discount. You also get an additional $10 discount for setting up autopay through your bank.

This means that if you remove autopay, the $10 discount will be removed. And once the 24 months are over, the other $10 discount will also end. (Usually, by that time, they offer another promotion.)

That's why it's stating your plan as $45.

I suggest posting this as an idea
