How do I return Smart plugin and cancel that subscription?

A few months ago I was offered a subscription to Smart Plug ins and bulbs which I did not want but was told I could cancel at anytime.  I reluctantly accepted but haven’t even opened the boxes as I don’t want it.  It’s $10/month.  I don’t know how to return it and most of all how to stop the billings. Yesterday I received a call from “Telus” and they said do you need help setting it up? I said “No, I want to return it.” He said “Ok. I will transfer you to the Loyalty Department. I will text you a number in case you get disconnected.” Well I was disconnected and received no text.   I don’t know if it was a scam call but how did he know I had it if it was? Unless they scan these questions ?

Hi there,

A Koodo rep can sell the smart home services but ultimately it falls under Telus as a “Smart Home Security Package” (SHS) In your case it is just the smart home products.

Because of this, the only way to return the product is through Telus, not the Koodo side. You will have to attempt to reach out to them. I will warn you though majority of the SHS products have a return window, after which you have to pay the remaining months left of the contract in order to exit. So, you can technically leave at any time, but it may cost an amount to leave as it is not a subscription but a contract.

You should try to schedule a callback with Telus through Telus Assist as soon as you can and get them to clarify if there are any fees associated with returning the equipment. The follow up call about assisting with the install is normal, but that’s why it was by Telus as it is a Telus product.
