I just got my new fon from Koodo, and I got new SIM card with it. The phone is both with the plan, which I already have. I want to keep my old number. So I wander, why I need a new SIM card.

If you were already with koodo and just ordered a new phone then the sim card you got with it is just a spare one that has yet to be activated. You'll want to use the sim card from your old phone in the new one.
