Need help with transfering a Prepaid number

I have a koodo prepaid number but it hasn't been recharged in a few months now. But now I'm not able to login to prepaid account. It says that my password has to be changed but doesn't allow me to change it. 

Regardless, I would like to port his number to a different service provider. But I'm not able to contact koodo to be able to do that cause I don't have a active account, I guess. Is there any way to get this done or have someone from Koodo contact me for this? The koodo assist did not set me up with a call back.

If your account’s been inactive for 90 days, Koodo might’ve already deactivated it and sent your number back into their pool. That makes porting it way harder since technically it’s no longer “yours” anymore.

Hi there,

How long has the prepaid not been topped up exactly? Once a prepaid account expires and is not topped up, the account closes after 90 days and the number is lost.

If it hasnt been that long, try calling *611 with the Koodo sim. This will bring you to the koodo prepaid top up through phone even if disconnected. If it has been suspended for longer than 90 days, then sadly the account and number is lost.

Thank you for your response. It hasn't been used since March 2025. Is there any way to validate if that number is still available?

Unfortunately no. The account is closed and the only way to get a similar number / the same back would be to speak with a rep and have them search and if it is already used you wouldnt be able to choose it.

Most likely not. It's been more then 90 days.

Before contacting koodo I would try to call the number to see if it has been assigned to someone else already
