Change from esim to physical sim and change from monthly to 360 day plan

Hi, I recently signed up for prepaid monthly using ESIM and have a few questions.

  1. I would like to eventually port my existing number with Koodo Postpaid to my new Koodo Prepaid account. Looking in the prepaid self serve, I would have request a callback from a rep and they would be able to help with that is that correct?
  2. I would like to change to the 360 day plan but I cannot find that option in self serve. How would I do that?
  3. I would like to change from ESIM to Physical SIM. Looks like I can do that in self serve in Profile → Edit Account Info → Change SIM card number. So I’ll just need to buy a physical sim card?

Hi there,

1. Yes a rep can help you with this or you can transfer the number by yourself in self serve. Under the "previous provider" section just choose Telus instead. For some reason they never seperated koodo and Telus at that step. Note if you have a rep make the change you may be charged a fee for them to do this.

2. If the 360 day plan is not visible to change to in self serve then you will have to have a prepaid rep change it for you via a callback. Just know that in order to switch to the plan you will have to immedietly pay the plan cost for the 360 day plan.

3. Yup! You can do the sim card change in self serve but you will need to aquire a physical prepaid sim. These can be aquired at your closest Koodo or Telus store for usually $10 plus tax.

Once transferred, you will receive one final bill from koodo outlining any remaining fees for the postpaid account.

I hope this clears things up! If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

@Oliver C Thanks for your reply.

Regarding the number porting, in self serve, it states in the first step:

“Transferring a Koodo Mobile or PC Mobile Number? To complete your number transfer request, please reach out to us at koodo.com/prepaidchat  and type #portcallback to set up a call with our rep.”

From that I took it to mean that a rep would need to do it and it cannot be done in self serve.

I also just tried going through to the next step in self serve and in the list of Mobile Service Providers there is “Koodo Mobile”. Just want to confirm I should still choose “Telus” to port over my existing number from Koodo Postpaid?

Hmm interesting. As far as I was aware the koodo mobile option was not available - hence the recommendation.

I would proceed with the koodo mobile option to transfer. The Telus trick is only if that is not showing.

You should not have an issue performing the transfer on your own, however, if you would rather not attempt it you can have a rep do it for you via a callback and at the same time change the plan to the 360 plan. 🙂👍
