Cannot activate VoLTE on prepaid plan

I have followed the instructions posted here to activate VoLTE on my iphone 16 but the option does not appear and when I try to enable wifi calling it tells me to contact Koodo.

I read another post where an agent had to turn the option on for another customer and hope that can be done for me.

I also cannot login to the community using my prepaid account login as it just keeps me going around in a loop so I had to create this account.

My phone number is ***394.

Hi there,

So is your question how to activate WiFi calling? As WiFi calling is not a feature that is offered on koodo prepaid. It is only for koodo postpaid which is why the phone is telling you to contact koodo.

For VoLTE, did you follow the instructions outlined in the link? Did you update the phone and are you in a VoLTE compatable area?

Ahh ok thank you. I need wifi calling to receive text messages from the bank, etc. as I’ll be overseas for a year.

I’ll have to move to another carrier.

Ah ok, no problem. Another limit with koodo prepaid is that it can only be used in Canada and the USA, it won't connect to towers outside of those countries.

Now, the postpaid service does offer some options such as EasyRoam, travel passes, and you can recieve texts for free while abroad with any postpaid plan. In case you're curious, I will leave some links below 🙂
