Am I being ripped off?

I bought a prepaid sim card for $50. I have spent 3 days trying to activate my phone and I keep getting blocked from finishing the top up, because it prompts me to pay again for a plan. Do koodo's sim cards cost $50 all by themselves, with a need to pay more for a plan? Or, is this just a way to force people into subscribing to a full plan instead of wanting to test this provider first?

Have you activate your prepaid SIM successfully?

How did you try to add funds?

Koodo prepaid SIM cards cost $20 or less. Who did you buy it from? Does it contain some voucher for top ups?
