(fyi the the call was in french as I’m from quebec and I am french myself)
I just got a call from potentially koodo after a few days of porting my number and leaving to another cell provider. I got offered me a good deal and told me I was a good constumer with my payments and being with them for many years and wants me back with a competitive deal after telling my current plan with the other provider. He had pretty much every information about me from account number, drivers licence to my SIM’s serial number printed to it. He also send an email I asked to confirm the legitimity, being “ koodo@e.koodomobile.com ” and is probably legit.
though, I am a victim of someone stealing my number and was too scared at the moment to go foward with changing back my number to koodo. Maybe the SMS they would send could be potentially a way to steal my number like it happened once and have access to all my 2-step authentificatiors for example. The information the person had was pretty worrisome if it is indeed a scam, stolen from some breach of the sort.
if it was all legit and the call was indeed real, would it be possible to be recontacted again, apologise about my worried behavior, and go foward?
Thank you.
Can you provide actual number from the caller? Was it a recognized Koodo number?
As well, what was the deal? From your description, it is hard to know.
Hi there
It’s always good to double check the legitimacy these days. If the email you shared above is the sender, we can confirm that it is legit. We can see the e-mail was sent today .
If you did not establish a follow up with the agent in question, we recommend that you schedule a call-back through the Koodo Assist in order for our team to look into the available options for you.
You mention that you had left Koodo a few days before receiving this call. So this call was likely what is generally referred to as a Winback Call. Your ex. Telco (in this case Koodo) will try to get your business back with a plan price that you could never get otherwise, When you get the callback that darius-koodo has suggested you request through Koodo assist, the agent should be able to see the offer in your account, which would mean it’s legit.
