I think there are 5G plans when you try to change plan later in self-serve.
Koodo changed their plan lineup with confusing naming. Their “4G speed’ plan isn’t a 4G plan. You could still access to 5G network with it. The only issue is the maximum download speed is capped at 100MB - which I am not a fan of. Anyway, if the phone upgrade required you to upgrade with the new plan, I don’t think you could by pass that. I recommend you upgrade the phone first then later change the plan later in self-serve to a 5G speed plan.
OK perfect! I was worried as I did not see any 5g plans listed any more. Just 4g. I'm like are we going back in time now?!?!
Is koodo still offering 5g plans? I look at all their plan lineups and see no options for 5g plans anymore. All are listed as 5g
As I mentioned earlier, there are 5G plans when you tried to change your plan in self-serve, I saw one 5G $55 for 100GB
Based on this link from Koodo, your plan should qualify to be kept while getting a phone on tab
