I understand that I wont have 5g speeds but will my iphone 11 pro max still work at 4g speeds? I want to get a new 5G plan to future proof myself.

Is that possible or will my iphone stop working?

thank you.

My husband has an iPhone 11 also. I just switched him to a 5G plan with Public Mobile and it works fine (it shows 4G on his phone).

It will work fine.

A 5G plan only means your phone will be capped at 5G speeds, compared to 4G plans that are capped at 4G speeds. But your phone will be able to connect to any of those networks based on signal strength. And since you don't have a 5G capable device, It just means you will be capped at a speed higher than your 4G connection can go.

4G LTE will 100% work for many years to come...😃...! The plan is for existing 4G LTE networks to be used by carriers well into 2030.
