Upgrade to new phone plan

I currently have 2/4 Gigs of data on my current plan (2 Gig with current plan and 2 free gigs with an older promo).  For $45/month and $10/100mg data a month.  My tab is paid in full and my contract is over.  I was thinking of upgrading to the $45 6gig plan.  Looks very similar to my current plan with similar features, other than the extra 100mg gig a month if you go over you limit is now $12/month instead of $10, but when I add it to my card and go to check out, it adds a sim card.  I don’t need one.  And it does not say if this plan is monthly or for a 12-24 month contract.  Anyone know the answers???  TIA

You might have selected to add a new plan instead of changing your current plan. Can you log into your selfserve and change it from there https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/changing-your-rate-plan
