Hey All,

I have the Unlimited International Text perk on my Canada-US roaming with data, talk and texts Plan. Does this plan already include Unlimited International Text? I feel like I have an unnecessary perk selected.

Thanks,

Steve.

No, that plan didn’t include international SMS/MMS. You will have to add a perk for it, if you would like to text internationally.

That information should also show up in your plan detail description in your self-serve

So if I text a Canadian number from the USA that is chargeable usage on this plan?

Yes. The international text perk means you can text TO anywhere in the world FROM Canada.

Edit: oh I missed that you said you have a CA/US plan. In that case, I believe that you can text Canada from the US even without that perk. Someone please correct me if I got that wrong 🙂

Yeah I think we need clarification on this. It is a plan where you can roam to the USA, but only talk to and call Canada numbers without that perk? Seems odd.

Oh even with the perk in fact. Weirdly enough those perks only work in Canada... but let me flag a rep to shed some light on texting from the US with your plan 😊

The unlimited international sms/Mms is only applicable when you are in Canada

if you have the us/canada roaming plan, you can send sms/mms to US/Canada numbers for free while you are in Canada and US. More here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/traveling-with-your-canada-us-rate-plan

Hi,

Dinh is correct, the $0 Unlimited International SMS and MMS perk is applicable when you send text messages from Canada to anywere in the world.

A Canada-US plan covers both calling and texting from Canada/US to Canada/US and from US to Canada

So with that plan you can text and call any Canadian or US number from within Canada or USA?

The perk is only necessary to text outside of the Canada/USA is what I'm understanding.

So with that plan you can text and call any Canadian or US number from within Canada or USA?

Yes

@Steve

There are a few US area codes that are not covered by the Canada-US plan, please check the article shared by Dinh above
