I am trying to change from Telus to Koodo for a plan and buy a new phone. Koodo is adding a charge of $5 for a new Sim card, I have a Sim card with my current phone, do I need a new Sim card?

If you order online then they will send you a new sim card. There's no way around that for online orders.
Keep in mind though that a Telus sim card won't work with Koodo anyways.
