If I get a new phone and that comes with a special offer plan can I keep my old sim card that I currently have, I don't really want to have to switch everything over. I am hoping I just put my current sim in with my new phone

Hi there,
So as long as you have a nano size sim card you can keep it no problem. What comes in the mail is just a spare if you choose to use it.
Note that even if you keep your sim card, the data is stored on the device, not the sim card. So you will have to transfer your data regardless. All that is kept on your sim is your phone number and plan 🙂👍
