I Want to Buy a New Phone from Somewhere Else and Switch my Current Plan to it...is this Possible?

I already have an existing phone plan with Koodo, but want to get a new phone. However, I would prefer to purchase a new phone elsewhere (not through Koodo). Can I transfer everything (my plan: “Canada-wide Talk and Text $35” with $0, 3 gigabyte “add-on”) over to the new phone, keeping everything the same minus the old phone (could I transfer the old phone’s SIM card to the new one)?

If so, what fees would I be charged?

No extra fees. Just switch the sim card from the old phone to the new one and you should be good to go. (You will need to enter the APN information into the new phone in order for data to work though).

The new phone must also be compatible with Koodo’s network, although most newer phones sold in North America will be. You can find the required frequencies for Koodo at: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/my-phone-compatible-koodo?search_api_views_article_search_fulltext=undefined

Why don’t you have actual people to speak to?  I purchased this awful phone Nov, 22 @ best buy. I is junk…..dropping calls all the time and can’t hear and I sound like I am a robot. I took it to Ajax store Jan & they kept it for repairs for 6 + weeks.  They couldn’t fix it o they gave me a new one?  it was not much better than the old one but due to my heart aattck I could not deal with returning it until now. SO I owe lge tab and can’t get any service from you. I need a call back to my ph or my landline 905-925-4688 (which I had to install due to reception on this cell. Its a google pro 6.

please call me to advise my options.  i am a long time customer but your service used to be decent.

If I don’t get satisfaction, I will get a new phone elsewhere and you will have to fight for this balance.

Waiting a call.

You may want to start your own post.

But in the mean time, the fact the issue seems to continue with a new phone, have you tried testing your sim in another phone that is confirmed to work (from family or friends or co workers)?  If not please try this.  Ideally they are with Koodo/Telus and are not having these issues.

Similarly you can try their working sim in your google phone.  This way we can try to see if the issue follows your sim or phone.
