Just wondering if it’s possibly to add a LTE hub to my account?  It would be nice for traveling this summer around Western Canada.

Just to clarify, you meant you would like to have another SIM to share data from your current plan? or you would like to have a separate data only line?

Either of those options could work. Are they both feasible? I know TELUS offers LTE hubs

Koodo option is limited. They don’t sell LTE hub and  You can’t share your data from your existing plan.

If you have your own unlocked LTE hub of some kind, you could get another phone plan and use the SIM in that. Koodo tablet plan could also be an option but the data amount was limited (3GB i think).

Hi @rustydusty17 this is not available through Koodo but you can find more on the TELUS Smart Hub service here https://www.telus.com/en/internet/smart-hub Please note though that the Smart Hub service is fixed to a designated service location and cannot be used elsewhere, so it is not mobile.

If you need access to more data than you currently have you can also change your plan in your online account and use your phone as a mobile hotspot, more information on this here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/personal-hotspot

Any reason I couldn't order a 2nd line and just use it in an unlocked LTE hub? As far as I'm aware there's no real different between a mobile device and a hub from a sim card perspective. Nor is there a difference on the network side.

Hi there,

so yes you can as long as the unlocked hub you buy is compatible with Koodo’s network frequency bands. It should work fine but of course you will only have the data functionality when in use with the LTE Hub.

You’re correct, the sims are all the same and as long as its compatible you should be good. But as Georgia mentioned, it is usually just cheaper to have a higher data plan and hotspot from your current device than having an additional line just for data. I hope this helps 🙂👍
