I recently travelled outside of Canada. Whenever I entered another country, I would get a Koodo pop-up reminding me of the pay-per-use charges and recommending Easy Roam. I did not make/receive any voice calls and only sent one text when my flight home was delayed. I was surprised to find a $16+tax charge on my Koodo phone bill. Further checking my no-charge add-ons included “Easy Roam US - PayPerUse Access On” and “Easy Roam INTL- PayPerUse Access On”.
I do not recall adding these features nor would it have occurred to me that these features meant a single text message would activate Easy Roam - the Koodo documentation on Easy Roam talks about enabling it through Self Service. Has anyone else experienced this unexpected large charge for a single text message?
