I recently switched to the $50 CAN-US plan. Can the 50GB of data can be used while in the US, or does the plan only have CAN-US calling and messaging? Also, if I am able to use the data while in the US, do I need to manually deactivate Easy Roam, or can I just continue using my phone as-is without the $14/day charge?

Yes, you can use the data in the US and there is no US roaming fee. You don’t have to deactivate easyroam.
Regarding the messaging. The plan include messaging while you are in Canada and US. You could sent to message either Canada or US.
