The 1000min LD add-on only applies to calls originating from Canada and only to a specific set of countries.
If you have easy roam, roaming covers all calls locally in the US plus calls back to canada as long as you are within your talk minutes

Hopefully my final question. If we do get Easy Roam do we need to pay for each phone number even though we only have one account?
Yes it is for each line, NOT for 1 account, so Easy roam applied over multiple lines can add-up in costs very quickly. I personally would use Easy Roam on 1 phone line. And I would hotspot my data to the others. This way roaming is just paid once.
This would mean the others will not be able to send texts or use Talk. And for them to use data, they always need to be nearby. This may or may not work for what you are doing.
An alternative could also be to sign up for a local sim card.
I too was thinking about a local SIM card as the best option. Thanks once again for your prompt responses.
