I subscribe to the original Stream + plan that has Netflix, Discovery+ with ads, and Apple TV. While ordering an new phone I seen Discovery + Ad Free is not available but it will not let me add it to my subscription as an update. Requested 3 call backs, 2 I could not understand or hear because of dogs barking and kids playing in the background. They told me I could add it only as a separate account in addition to my subscription and was not able to remove my original discovery with ads. Makes no sense, I just want to change my existing Discovery I pay for with the Ad Free update and pay any additional cost.

Also, I hate call centers that have no idea how to assist

Discovery+ is no longer available as an option. Once you change your plan, it will be removed.

Discovery + with ads and Discovery + Ad Free are both listed as add ons under the SHOP tab . It says you can add either to your existing Stream + subscription

Indeed. But it wouldn’t really work to add Discovery + to the older Stream + add-on that did include Discovery +. I don’t believe that just adding it would only charge the difference for older stream + packages. As you see in the link you shared, it lists Netflix, Disney, Prime, and Telus in the current Stream + lineup to add Discovery + to. As I understand, you’d have to go directly to the company options and select the ad-free add-on and pay it separately. If you like, I can flag a rep to confirm that’s still the case.

That may be a recent change. I have flagged a rep to help you out.

Exactly, this was my original question to customer service, I was hoping to just update my Discovery+ on my subscription and pay an additional fee. One CS told me I could but had to call back, the other told me I could not because “thats the way it works”  lol

I want to keep my original Stream + but definitely do not want to pay for 2 Discovery+ plans. It seems a simple addition to me but obviously there must be more to it that I do not see.

Hi @Rafkin, the original Stream+ (since discontinued) was offered as a bundle of services which included Netflix premium, Appletv+ and discovery+ (with ads). This was the only version of the service available, there was no option to modify any of the subscriptions individually.

Since Stream+ 2.0 has been introduced, which no longer includes discovery+, Koodo is now offering a standalone discovery+ subscription. For this standalone subscription only, you can select either a version with ads or an ad-free version.

If you would like to keep the original bundle, the discovery+ cannot be upgraded to the ad-free version, you would need a separate subscription.

Thank you for the explanation
