I am trying to sign up for a montly plan, I do not have a canadian driver license, so I am trying to use my social insurance number, but it keeps saying it is not valid. I have tried different ways ( ***-***-***, *********, *** *** ***, * * * * * * * * *) and know my number is correct, I have copied and pasted from previous tax forms. What am i doing wrong?

SIN won’t work as ID for Koodo activation if you don’t have a driver’s license or credit card; SIN isn’t a valid ID for credit check or verification in this case. Usually, Koodo asks for a Canadian driver’s license, passport, or health card instead. SIN is just for tax, not ID verification.

If you don’t have a driver’s license, try using your passport or health card number instead. If none of those work, you might be stuck because the system needs an official ID for credit check.

Also, make sure you’re entering your SIN without spaces or dashes (just 9 digits straight). But honestly, SIN isn’t usually accepted alone for activation online. Weird, but that’s how it goes.

Thanks for the answer, but the form is asking either for driver license or social insurance number, there is no option to put in my passport or anything else for the credit check

If it is not working, you may want to try going to your nearest Koodo store or authorized dealer to complete the credit check. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/credit-check-requirements

Can you provide a screenshot of the error you are seeing?

Is this a fairly new SIN?
