Question

Activated on wrong plan - got $37/80GB 5G instead of the $20/80GB winback - what now?

Hi, I recently signed up for what was supposed to be the $20/80GB Black Friday winback plan (4G speeds, $20).

However, when my line was activated, I was put on a $37/80GB 5G plan instead – that's a clear activation error on the wrong plan. Could anyone seeing this (Especially KOODOO Rep) please correct this by switching me to the correct $20/80GB winback offer retroactively (effective from my activation date) and apply any credits for the difference if I've already been billed?

Since you were activated on the wrong plan, this requires Koodo internal adjustment. If you want, I can flag a rep for you to review and correct your plan retroactively, including any billing credits for the difference. Let me know if you want me to do that.

Also I don't recall a plan of 20$ for BF. Must be a plan with some credits. Do you recall what those credits are?

Good day Robert

Hi, yes please go ahead and flag a rep to review and correct the plan. I'd like to be switched to the correct $20/80GB Black Friday/winback plan retroactively from my activation date, plus any billing credits for the difference.

Thanks again

Before flagging a rep, do you remember if there were any bill credits offered or do you have any proof for the plan?

Thank you Robert

Unfortunately, I do not have written documentation of the bill credits or the exact plan details because the offer was made verbally over the phone by the previous representative. During that call, the rep explicitly promised that:

  • All additional fees would be waived
  • I would only pay $20 per month for 80 GB of data
  • Everything would be included with no surprises

I accepted and activated the plan based on that clear verbal commitment.

The call was made to 1-888-980-8108 on November 29, 2025, at 4:59 PM Pacific Time (Vancouver local time) and lasted approximately 50 minutes (including hold time). Since this was a phone transaction, the promise and agreement should be part of the recorded call.

I would appreciate it if you could pull the recording of that conversation so we can confirm exactly what was offered and agreed upon.

Until then, I expect the original terms I was promised to be honored ($20/month for 80 GB with all fees waived), as I relied on the representative’s assurances when I signed up.

Please let me know how you’d like to proceed or if you need any additional details from my side to locate the call recording.

Thank you for your help in resolving this.

Best regards,

Allan M

There’s another similar winback plan I found from last week that is a $35 80GB plan that comes with $10 off when you signup for auto pay and a $5/m bill credit for 12 months. Does this ring any bells? Have you gotten your first bill yet to see if you are indeed getting charged more than you expected?

Hi @Yip C, we can see you’ve spoken with an agent over the phone, we hope they were able to address your concerns. Let us know if you have other questions!

Thank you for your help.

I received my first bill and have a couple of questions:

  1. The bill includes partial charges from December 1 to December 6 totaling $7. However, I did not receive the SIM card until after December 6. Could you please review these charges?
  2. For the 80GB plan, it shows $35 (after a $5 discount). With taxes included, the total amount due is $41.44.

I have now enrolled in AutoPay. Could you please let me know:

  • On which date the first AutoPay deduction will occur?
  • Will the AutoPay discount (if any) be applied retroactively to this current bill?

Thank you very much for your assistance!

  1. Koodo starts billing immediately after activation.  This is normal practice for Koodo and they will not reverse this.  Or at least not on the community
  2. Auto pay is withdrawn 15 days before your next bill date.  The auto pay discount is not applied retro actively.

If you are looking for 1 time exception, you will need to request a callback via koodo assist to speak with a rep.  No promises they will provide a 1 time exception as it is at their discretion.
