$40 Mobility plan comparison

Koodo has two $40 BYOD mobility plans. They first has 60GB data and Canada-US-Mexico roaming. The second has 50GB data and unlimited Canada-wide minutes. Both have unlimited international SMS. Does this imply that the first plan does not include unlimited Canada-wide minutes? In this case you would be paying extra for long distance calls in Canada, but you could add the free perk "Unlimited Long Distance Pack" right? I'm just confused as to why they bother offering the second plan and why I should choose that over the first plan. I don't have any current plans to travel to the US or Mexico but free roaming seems like a nice bonus. Any advice on which plan to get?

Basically the other regular plans were posted, and Koodo added a promotional plan for the same price, but with added data and features included. I guess it was easier from a webpage perspective to just add the one plan instead of adjusting the other offerings. When it expires, it’ll just be removed from the site, and that’s it.

Hi @ctcarson

We can confirm that the first one does indeed include unlimited Canada-wide calling, so no charges should incur for calls made to Canadian numbers.

Please note that for both plans, the $40 price is applicable only if you set up pre-authorized bank payments.

That’s great, so it makes sense to get the first plan with 60GB. Not sure why anyone would go with the second plan versus the first which seems to be identical but gets you another 10GB data plus Canada-US-Mexico roaming.
