ZTE firmware update from September still not fixed for Home Phone

Been having problems with wireless home phone for a couple of month, intermittent issue with loud noise on incoming calls. Finally figured out how to talk to tech support, and supposedly is an issue with a ZTE firmware update from September ‘25 that is still not fixed. Have 2 home phone plans for a long time, and crazy that Koodo won’t remedy the problem their provider created.

Koodo, won’t ship a new modem they are now using instead of the ZTE and suggestions are 1) is to turn off/on periodically until they get a fix, or 2) switch to Telus for the new modem, at higher cost and 2 year contract. Not the best solution for my parents in their 80’s.  Anyone have any luck with Fido, or bought a cell router off Amazon/Ebay?  Just exploring options before I cancel.

Hi @Bryan578

We see that you discussed with a rep earlier today.

Unfortunately, if an upgrade is not available over the phone or in store, we recommend checking the wireless Home phone on TELUS https://www.telus.com/en/mobility/wireless-home-phone
