To add to Flo, what kind of devices are you both using / are they up to date? Are one of you an android user and if so, do you know the messaging app that is being used?

Yes I do get messages from everyone.

she said she gets messages from everyone and everyone gets hers. 
my phone is up to date

As Oliver asked above, which phone are you using? And which phone is her using? Sometimes,it was issue of imessage or RCS
