Per title, does anyone know what will happen if I (primary owner) switch to a different carrier while I currently have a family member added as a second line under my account? The second line (family member) prefers to stay with Koodo.
I couldn't find information on this, your help is appreciated.
The second line will be there, but it will still show your name, since you are the owner of the account.
If they want to take over the account, they can do a transfer of ownership. Note there will be a $50 fee for the service. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/transfer-of-ownership-town
Thanks for the reply! Just to confirm I understood this correctly, does that mean I remain to be the owner even though I don’t own any phone number with Koodo?
A follow-up question on that, what will happen if the second line also port to some other carrier in the near future?
Thanks!

Technically, your second number becomes your primary number with Koodo. Because it's still under your name.
It means if your second line is receiving "add a line " discount, then it will likely fall off.
If you port out this second number/primary in the future, then you just need to pay off tab balance/bonus if any and any overage. And done with Koodo.
Thank you, that makes sense.
The only remaining question I have is that the phone number with this second line is my wife’s. She ported this number over from Fido a year ago under my account as a second line. After I port out my primary number, this will be the only number under this account (my name). Right now I do see this number is under her name even though I’m the account owner. In the future, if she wants to switch to a different carrier, can she do that on her own? Or would that need to be done by me?
The confusion I have is the account is under my name but the phone number is under her name.

My number is under my name and I am a as an authorized person., But my husband is still account owner. So, he gets a bill and he is responsible for any of my overage and tab. If I want to port out my number, my husband still need to initiate the process
