Question

What is [myphonenumber]@msg.koodomobile.com?

Wycliffecymro

When I get a message from [myphonenumber]@msg.koodomobile.comsaying "You've received a message from a Koodo Mobile Customer," is this for real or a scam?

It's probably an MMS message from someone. Did you receive a picture message from a friend?

Thanks, Sophia. No. There is an attachment, but I wasn’t going to click on it till if I knew if it was genuine! Why would someone want to communicate this way rather than the dozen more straightforward ways there are?

You got me there 😂 SMS and MMS should die already 😁

:joy:

Anyway, you think it’s safe for me to click on the attachment?

Well, it could be from a friend and it could be a spammer… I mean anyone can send those type of messages. So it’s probably safe but not guaranteed… proceed with caution.

It’s an old method for someone to send an SMS message to your phone from a computer that only has access to email. Koodo or Telus receives the email, then forwards it to messaging.
